Friday Links: New Site Offers Groupon-Style Deals on E-Books and 'Here Lies Bridget' Gets Director

In this week's roundup:

According to Deadline, the adaptation of Here Lies Bridget by Paige Harbison will be directed by Kat Coiro.  The director says, “Here Lies Bridget is a profound coming of age story wrapped in the glossy packaging of a teen comedy – think an edgy It’s A Wonderful Life meets Mean Girls.” The script was written by Leah Rachel, and casting is underway."

Plans are underway to create a musical based on Kate DiCamillo's book Because of Winn-Dixie with songs by Duncan Sheik and a real dog on stage.

More The Hunger Games merchandise is on the way with nail polish and water, and the movie hasn't even come out yet.

Universal wins rights to Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor.

Jellybooks, a new site that has yet to launch, will offer Groupon-style deals on e-books.

  1. I will have to tell my sister about The Hunger Games nailpolish since she likes both things.

Love the name of Jellybooks :)

  2. Thanks for the update on these... You might be interested in my blog, it's all about film adaptations of books:

  3. I predict that nail polish and water are only the beginning in a long line of pointless promotional THG products.

  4. Some of those nail colors are pretty cool.
I would SO buy the water!
Let me know how it goes with Jellybooks.
